Although now calling Winnipeg home, Mark's family originally migrated west from Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia to Toronto. Mark began studying drums and hand percussion as a teenager, gradually expanding his musical talents to include traditional Celtic instruments such as bodhran and pennywhistle. After earning his BSC, Mark came to Winnipeg seeking his fame and fortune. Instead, he met Rob. Prior to forming TARRY TROUSERS with Rob, Mark played percussion with Celtic/Filk artists, "Dandelion Wine," children's entertainer Fred Penner and Jake Chenier and with the percussion duet Big Bang Theory. Offstage, Mark serves as an accompanist at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet.
